Aside from all the cool phones and tablets, we’ll be talking about some cool accessories announced at the CES in Las Vegas.

One such device is SolarKindle, which is a product of SolarFocus Technology. As you can imagine from its name, this device uses solar energy to power-up Amazon’s popular tablet (Kindle Fire), pretty much unplugged for 3 months or even more. What’s especially cool about it is that it also acts as a cover, keeping your beloved e-reader protected while providing it with extra juice at the same time.

Moreover, SolarKindle supports dual-charging (USB/solar) and thanks to its reserve battery, the manufacturer guarantees three-months of unplugged Kindle use under normal sunlight environment.

But that’s not all, you also get a LED reading lamp built-in that can be powered continuously for up to 50 hours without using the Kindle’s main battery for the “best illumination.”

All said, we’re not surprised SolarKindle was a 2012 International CES Innovations Design & Engineering Awards Honoree. It is at display at the SolarKindle Booth #70402, Venetian.

As for the price and availability, SolarKindle will start selling on January 15 for $79.99 on solarmio.com and other retailers.
