Huawei predicting $4 billon revenue from handsets in 2008

Huawei is predicting $4 billion revenue from handsets in 2008, according to the EVP of the company. That’s alongside the fact that the annual growth rate of the handsets business should top 30% in the next five years! Given all the recent negative news surrounding Mobile companies’ finances, this is good (and impressive) news!

Interestingly, Huawei is also optimistic about it’s position within the turbulent global economic situation, stating that the focus of the company has been in the emerging markets – smart move I say, plenty of growth to be had there…

As those of you who read IntoMobile daily will know, I’ve more than once mentioned about Huawei – they don’t just do handsets, oh no – they do network infrastructure, and have been winning significant deals, both at home and in Europe.

Watch this space closely, you are going to see their name more and more!
