Viper SmartStart 3.0, which was announced at this year’s CES, is finally available for download. Promising to serve as a “cloud-connected remote start system,” it brings several handy features to the table, including:

  • SmartSchedule – which sends smart behavior-based alerts when it’s time to remote-start your car.
  • Vehicle Status – so you can locate your vehicle with GPS, as well as know that it’s running, armed, locked, etc.
  • Auxiliary Channels – ability to customize your app to interact remotely with any part of your car – for instance, you can roll down your windows/sunroof or blast the radio.
  • Vehicle Diagnostics – alerts sent to your smartphone help you know the health of your car from the cloud.

In other words, with Viper SmartStart 3.0, you can control your car from your smartphone “using the power of the cloud.” There’s also SmartStart Bluetooth available starting at $129, with no service plan required…
