A Texas college student by the name of Chance Bothe decided to put his life in the hands of chance, when he opted to text while driving. The guy had a freaky premonition that he’d drive himself off a cliff into a fiery death. Well, I may have embellished a bit, but most of what I said happen to be true. Bothe was driving in January when he told someone on the other end of the phone via text message: “I need to quit texting, because I could die in a car accident,” just before he drove his truck off a cliff.
Surprisingly, the dude survived, but his reward for escaping death was a broken neck, a crushed face, a fractured skull, and traumatic brain injuries — all of which caused him to spend the last six months in intensive recovery in the hospital. The consequences were both painful and traumatic, as the 21-year old student told the New York Daily News, how his “face was broken from his cheekbones all the way up,” resulting in him having to learn how to speak again.
Wait, there is light to this dark and gloomy story, as the young man became reborn. After Bothe recovers a bit more from his accident, he intends to teach others about the dangers of texting while driving, adding simply “Don’t do it. It’s not worth losing your life.” I’m sure this is a valid point as to why the government continue to crack down on people who text while they’re driving.
Okay, keep it real. How many of you out there have a bad habit of texting while driving? And how many of you out there use voice assistant services to do the job for you? If so, what voice assistant program do you use?
