On the same day Nokia introduced its new Lumia phones, Motorola also held an event to introduce its new lineup of Android devices. The manufacturer, now owned and operated by Google, unveiled the mid-range RAZR M for Verizon Wireless.

The next in the company’s line of RAZR phones, the new RAZR M includes the following specs:

  • 4.3-inch qHD AMOLED display with Advanced Gorilla Glass 2 and “almost no borders”
  • 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor
  • NFC
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB of internal storage
  • 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video
  • 0.3-megapixel Front-facing camera for portraits and video chat
  • 4G LTE connectivity
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

The RAZR M will sit in the middle of Verizon’s offerings. It’s a step up from the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Stellar and a step down from the Samsung Galaxy S III. The device will launch on September 13th for $99 (after $50 mail-in-rebate) with new two-year agreement, and if you’ve already decided that the RAZR M is the device for you, you can preorder the device on Verizon’s website later today.

Like the RAZR HD before it, Motorola will be making a developer edition available in coming weeks that will allow developers to unlock the bootloaders and tinker with their devices. Of course, this should simply be an option available on all device, but we digress.
