Verizon will soon be updating the Samsung Galaxy Nexus to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, according to a document posted on Verizon’s support page. Soon, owners of the Galaxy Nexus will receive an OTA update to install the latest Google operating system on their devices, something owners of GSM Galaxy Nexus devices have been enjoying for over two months now. CDMA versions of phones tend to take longer to update due in large part to the carrier testing process, which has drawn criticism from many users.
The update will bring Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners Google’s impressive Google Now feature, as well as the smoothest Android UI experience yet thanks to Project Butter. The update should be hitting devices in coming days, and you can check for an update manually by going into settings, about phone, then system update.
