It looks like someone let the cat out of the bag a little early. Engadget got its hands on what appears to be a leaked promo video for Google Now on the iPhone and iPad. The fit and finish of the video as well as its similarity to the Android version’s video suggests it’s legitimate as well.
Rumors indicated that Google was planning to bring its Siri-competitor for Android, Google Now, to iOS. Aside from rumors, it’d simply just be a smart move anyway because most other Google services are available to iPhone customers. Rather than releasing Google Now as a separate app, the video says it will be bundled into the main Google Search app and accessible via a swipe up from the main screen. This app is already available for free in the iOS App Store, so an future update would bring the Google Now functionality.
If Google has this promo video ready, that means Google Now for iOS shouldn’t be far off. Many who have compared Now with Siri say Now is significantly faster to fetch results.
