With all the buzz the new Galaxy S4 is generating, one may forget that Samsung is also making a lower-end phones, like the Galaxy Star and Galaxy Pocket Neo models we’ve seen unveiled in Africa. Well another such device, Galaxy Y Plus, has been caught at the company’s India website and it too is heading towards the emerging markets of the world.
Specs wise, this little fella comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, dual-SIM capability, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, 850MHz single-core processor, 4GB of built-in storage, microSD memory card slot and a 1,200mAh battery, while Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is running the show. In other words, it’s a slightly improved version of the last year’s Galaxy Y Duos Lite.
When it comes to the price, Samsung will sell the Galaxy Y Plus for 8,000 INR which is about $147. There is no word on when it’s going to be released in other countries though we expect that will happen in no time at all…
