Hands-On With The Verizon Droid Maxx

Rounding out the new Droid lineup that Verizon announced earlier today is the refreshed Droid Maxx, one of the most popular Android handsets in the carrier’s lineup. The devices’ refresh will be more than welcomed for those rocking the existing Razr Maxx HD, and with a whopping 48 hour battery life, stands to attract more people than ever.

Like the other Droid handsets recently announced, the Droid Maxx rocks a 5 inch HD  display,  Motorola’s X8 SoC, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, 10 megapixel camera, wireless charging support, and a whopping 3,500 mAh battery. Not only does the new Droid Maxx have a larger battery than its predecessor, but it’s also thinner as well.

Of the three new devices, the Droid Maxx looks the most familiar to the previous generation. The Kevlar on the back has a soft touch finish on it, and doesn’t feel cheap and ‘plasticky’ like the Droid Ultra. As you can see in the pictures below, the profile of the device gives off a curved looked, which is subtle but easy on the eyes.

While the Droid Maxx is $100 more than the Droid Ultra, this is phone is where it’s at. With a massive battery and wireless charging support that the Ultra lacks, the Maxx’s price is justified.
