HTC Desire 500, which was announced some two weeks ago in Taiwan, is now officially official in the UK, with the rest of Europe likely to get it as well.
If you recall, we’re talking about a mid-end device that comes with a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 7.2Mbps HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, 4GB of expandable storage and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
However, it doesn’t have the look and feel of the Taiwanese company’s latest phones like the HTC One and HTC Butterfly, rather reminding us on their devices from a few years ago. The Desire 500 still runs the latest version of the Sense UI all with the BlinkFeed home screen reader and automatic video highlights.
HTC said this phone will be available in “Lacquer Black” and “Glacier Blue” with retailer and carrier partners in the “select markets” later this month. In some countries, a version with dual-SIM capabilities and NFC support will also be offered.
