HP is reviving the Compaq brand in China where the company has unveiled a trio of affordable tablets, all of which rock Allwinner A31s quad-core chip and run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The Compaq 7 is the worst of the pack, sporting a 7-inch 1024×600-pixel TN display that isn’t really visible from many angles. Building on that is the Compaq 7+ that has a much better IPS screen.
Finally, the Compaq 8 comes with a 7.85-inch 1024×768-pixel IPS display a la the original iPad mini.
Additionally, all three models sport 1GB of RAM and internal storage ranging from 8 to 16 GB. Prices start at 999 Yuan, or about $160.
No word whether this will ever hit the West, and honestly – we’re not sure we need ’em…
