Just when we’ve told you that the new version of SwiftKey is available for download, Swype launched an updated app of its own. Version 1.6.2.22328 got a slew of new features, most importantly split and mini keyboard layouts, and new customization options that allow you to change long-press delay, vibration duration, keyboard height and word list font size.

In addition, there’s a new theme included (“Blackbird”), bilingual support, search gesture, support for multiple Indian languages (Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi and Telugu), and phrase-based, real-time results. Moreover, let’s not forget the ability to use one language for typing and another for dictation. In other words, this allows you to use English for typing and, let’s say, speak German when you want the software to turn your voice into text. Pretty cool, though I’ll keep using SwiftKey for the time being. What about you?
