As part of the plan to make its users safer — and eventually increase ARPU — AT&T will be pre-installing Lookout Mobile Security on Android devices. The basic app will come free of charge, while Premium version will cost $2.99 per month.

Lookout’s app not only keeps users protected from malware but also allows them to easily find missing or stolen phones, and perform regular backup of important information. For those who don’t want to wait for AT&T, Lookout Mobile Security is already available on Google Play Store.

Aside from the “app part,” the solution also has a web component, located at Lookout.com, from where customers can manage multiple mobile devices and locate a phone or tablet on a map.

“Our goal is to ensure that we provide our customers with the most comprehensive security, and we are excited to team up with Lookout to help protect our customers,” said Judy Cavalieri, AT&T Mobility VP of voice and prepaid products.
