Meizu's Flyme ROM caught running on the Xiaomi Mi3

We’ve told you that Meizu may allow other vendors to use its Flyme OS and voila – we have the first non-Meizu phone running the Chinese firm’s software.

Meizu’s first target is no other than Xiaomi Mi3, which has apparently successfully managed to handle the task. The Mi3 pictured above is China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA variant with NVIDIA Tegra 4 chip that runs Flyme 3.4.5. We would have to assume that the international WCDMA version will also be able to “cope” with Flyme, but alas – I ain’t gonna try it out on my Mi3. I’m pretty satisfied with the MIUI experience and have no reason (nor time) to dump it for something else. Ok, I may try out Ubuntu Mobile when it’s released, but that’s another story.

Anyway, we’ve no idea when Meizu will allow everyone to download Flyme OS and install it on its phone. Chances are they’re working make that happen as we speak…
