If you’ve watched the movie “Gravity” in a Dolby Atmos enabled theater, you may’ve noticed how awesome it sounds. We have Dolby’s new audio tech to “blame” for this, which — guess what — should come to a smartphone near you later in the year.
According to FoneArena’s report, Dolby has found a way to simulate surround sound effect in the headphones in an effort to enhance the way we consume media on our smart devices.
The company is currently working with hardware partners to help bring the product to the market. As far as I’ve understood, Dolby Atmos require a ton of horsepower and will debut with high-end Snapdragon 805-powered devices. Or, Dolby just wants its high-end tech to be found in best devices, only. We’ll have to wait for another few months to get all the answers. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
