Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro shows up on Geekbench with Snapdragon 6 Gen 3

Six years of Android updates on a mid-range phone is not something you hear every day. That’s apparently what Samsung has planned for the Galaxy F70 Pro, and if the pricing lands anywhere near reasonable, this one could be a genuinely smart buy. But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s talk about what we actually know.

The Galaxy F70 Pro has been spotted on Geekbench under the model number SM-E476B, and the listing confirms some key specs. The phone runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, ships with 8GB of RAM, and boots Android 16 out of the box. Benchmark scores came in at 998 for single-core and 3,090 for multi-core. Those numbers aren’t going to blow anyone away, but they’re solid for the mid-range bracket. The motherboard codename “parrot” and the Adreno GPU both point clearly to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, the same chip that just debuted inside the Galaxy M47.

That last part is not a coincidence. Samsung has a long history of launching near-identical hardware across its M and F series lines, then selling them through different retail channels. The Galaxy M47 came first, and the Galaxy F70 Pro looks set to follow as its F-series twin. Same core specs, slightly different positioning. It’s a strategy that works for Samsung because it covers more ground without building entirely separate phones from scratch.

On the camera front, leaks suggest a triple rear setup with a 50MP primary sensor and OIS. Other expected specs include NFC, an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. The phone is also rumoured to have a leather-like rear panel, which has become something of a signature look for recent Galaxy F devices. It’s a nice touch that makes the phone feel a bit more premium without actually costing more to produce.

Software is where Samsung is trying to make a real statement here. One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 is expected at launch, with up to six years of OS upgrades promised. That matters more than people give it credit for. Most rivals in this price range offer two or three years of updates at best. Committing to six years means a phone you buy today could still be getting fresh Android versions in 2032. For a device that’s likely to start above Rs 30,000 in India, that longevity argument is a strong one.

The competition at that price point is real though. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro, Nothing Phone 4a, and OnePlus Nord CE 6 are all fighting for the same buyers. Most of them have comparable hardware on paper. So Samsung’s edge here, if it plays the cards right, is exactly that software support promise and the trust that comes with the Samsung brand in markets like India.

The Galaxy F70 Pro has already cleared BIS certification, appeared on Samsung India’s website, and passed through Bluetooth SIG. That’s basically the full pre-launch checklist. A formal announcement should not be far off. Pricing will make or break it, but right now this one looks worth watching.
