According to Gizmochina, this phone is set to be the first in the world to ship with a 6.85-inch BOE Q11 2K Zeiss Master Color panel. That’s a big screen, a sharp screen, and apparently a smarter screen too.
The Q11 panel uses upgraded BOE light-emitting materials, and Vivo is claiming some pretty specific improvements over the previous generation. Motion blur during scrolling is down 93%. Color uniformity is up 43%. Brightness uniformity has improved by 22%. Those aren’t round numbers, which tends to suggest someone actually measured them rather than just picked something that sounds good. Whether you notice any of this in real-world use is always the real test, but the underlying work sounds legitimate.
The power consumption story is where things get genuinely interesting. Flagship displays have historically been a battery drain problem, especially as resolutions climb. Vivo says the X500 Pro Max’s 2K panel pulls 21% less power than the 1.5K display on the previous model, and the lifespan of the panel itself has doubled. If those numbers hold up in testing, that’s a real win. You’re getting more pixels, better colors, and longer battery life from the screen. That almost never happens all at once.
There’s also an under-display multispectral sensor handling ambient light detection. Vivo claims it can detect visible light across different spectrums and color temperatures with a 98% match to human vision, and adjusts brightness down to 0.3-lux precision. The company is calling it the best brightness adjustment in the Android space. That’s a bold claim, but fine-grained auto-brightness is something people actually notice every day, so if it works as described, it’ll matter.
