Yep, today is the day most Canadians take some time off, BBQ, drink beer and light off fireworks. Canada Day (formerly known as Dominion Day) is the Canadian version of American Independence Day, in which we celebrate the anniversary of the July 1, 1867 enactment of the British North America Act. Long story short, we’re celebrating the birthday of our country. If you’d like to learn more about Canada Day, check out the Canadian Government’s Heritage website. There’s some good info there.
To all of my Canadian family, friends and colleagues, let’s party it up today. But not too hard, most of us have to go back to work tomorrow…… right? 🙂
Note: The image above should work very nicely as an iPhone wallpaper. Give it a try!
Happy 142nd Birthday Canada!
