Hisense HS-E90 unveiled all in its Android glory

Hisense HS-E90

Chinese Hisense is joining the Android game with its first handset – HS-E90. It’s a CDMA-based (EV-DO Rev. A) all-touchscreen device which comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA (why not WVGA?) display, 5-megapixel camera, and all other “standard for a high-end phone” features like Bluetooth, solid battery (1500 mAh), FM radio, and so on.

However, there is one strange thing about the Hs-E90 and that’s the official press photo. Actually, that’s not one problem as there are multiple photos, but you get the point. As you can see from the image above, the device seems to run Samsung’s TouchWIZ UI which is, well, strange. We haven’t heard about any arrangements involving Samsung, but who knows, maybe they’ve licensed their UI after all — I’m arguing for such a move in a separate post. On the other hand, it’s more likely Hisense’s UI only looks similar to TouchWIZ.

Also noticeable from the press photos is the China Telecom logo, hinting us with whom in China Hisense is negotiating to carry their first Android baby.

Finally, it’s worth adding that the Hisense HS-E90 will be available later this month, and that the company is exploring options to reach other markets (except China), including the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. Pricing was not unveiled, though.
