Having popped up on the Sony Ericsson Canada website earlier in the week, I wasn’t surprised at all to notice the Naite is now live and very available on Fido for $25 on a 2-year contract or $150 contract-free.
The Naite is a candybar featuring a 2.2″ QVGA 240×320 display, 2MP camera with 2.5 digital zoom and video, FM radio tuner, speakerphone and can hold an 8GB microSD card. The official description is as follows:
Stay on top of life with the Sony Ericsson Naite phone. A classic 3G phone designed to help you stay in touch, stay organised – and do a bit for the environment. Its timeless looks include a large 2.2′ LCD display so you can easily see your calendar and contacts. It’s got a decent camera, Google™ maps, a phone calendar and great green credentials too.
The ‘green credentials’ on the Naite are substantial. Part of the Sony Ericsson ‘Green Heart‘ program, the device comes in ultra-compact and recyclable packaging, the housing is built out of recycled plastic, no lead was used in the device, and overall less chemicals were used in production. Oh, and instead of a manual you’ll get an electronic e-manual, plus a low-power consumption charger to help you save energy. Not bad.
