The GPS navigation-savvy Android phone that we like to call the “Garminfone” is as real as can be with its June launch window looming. Today, we get a little more info on just when in June the Garminfone is going to officially be available from T-Mobile USA. According to an ad for the handset, it’ll be available from Magenta at the expected $200 price point on June 2nd.

The phone’s older Android 1.6 OS and its lack of a 3.5mm headphone Jack aside, the Garminfone should give you the closest thing to a PND (Personal Navigation Device) experience you can get in an Android phone today. The big 3.5-inch display and the onboard maps make the Garminfone a true navigation powerhouse. Scavenger hunt snafus aside. That bit about the navigation maps living on the device means at you can navigate even when you don’t have a wireless data connection to download mapping information. It’s a big deal if you want to use your smartphone as a true PND replacement.

Now, are those of you that want always available GPS navigation willing to do without a 3.5mm headphone jack? If you are, you won’t havee to wait long to get your hands on a Garminfone for yourself.
