Ken says he’s going to keep working on his comparison of the image quality the Nokia N Series produces

Yesterday I posted some photo comparisons between my Treo 700W, the Nokia N73 & N93, and a Nikod D50.

That was a start as I explore more deeply into the photo capabilities of the new Nokia N-series phones. I thought it might be worthwhile to explain what I’m doing and where you can see the results.

Like many people, I use Flickr for photo organizing. My complete Flickr collection can be view here. But more to the point of these Nokias, I’ve created specific sets for the Nokia N73, Nokia N93 and Nokia N80i (that one’s an empty placeholder set for the moment, but I anticipate having an N80i to review also). There’s also a Nokia Photo Comparison set, where I put the pictures from yesterday’s comparision. I expect to use it for very specific comparisons like the one I did yesterday.

I think the openness of sharing photos with a critical eye on evaluating these handsets is useful and valuable.

Thank you Ken, for actually having the guts to put Nokia’s feet over the fire and compare camera phones to an actual high quality camera. My father always told me, and still does: "When you are competing, the only way to improve is the challenge the best and loose until you win, not to challenge the weak and win every competition."

Sure the Nokia N Series may have the best camera phone image quality on the market right now, but it still isn’t up to a dinky little $200 Canon or Nikon point and shoot.
