Europe Chatfonoinfo announced the launch of Europe-wide initiative – “Europe Chat”, aiming to create an SMS and web chat community in Europe. The initiative is based on fonoinfo’s platform ChitChat SMS & Web Chat, which offers users anonymous SMS and web chat within a community.

The platform integrates six different components:

  • SMS and web messaging component, which integrates with the operator’s premium rate SMS components offering additional revenue on messages sent and received by the users in the community
  • instant messaging component, which integrates with popular messenger services such as MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger
  • NaviGate location-based chat that allows a user to find the location of other chatters
  • content (ringtones, logos, images, Java, etc.) purchase and gifting through fonoinfo’s ManGo Content Management and Delivery Platform
  • the ability to browse the content catalogue on the handset through ManGo Catalogue Browser, and
  • the ability to chat from your handset via GPRS through 12MM J2ME Instant Messenger.

According to fonoinfo, ChitChat is particularly interesting for three technology segments: mobile operators, content providers and ISPs. Furthermore, the company states that the mentioned three segments could benefit from increased user loyalty and additional revenue.
