Haha..so now it’s the jogdial..:). Seriously..you want your phone’s applications and other content to be displayed in endless lists?

And if your are putting in content with the numeric keypad..you want to change your grip all the time or use two hands? No, the joystick for me. Thank you verry much!

You’ve obviously never used a blackberry haha, or an old sony clie

  • Ricky Cadden

you talking about the scroll-wheel or the headphone jack?

That’s one of the few things I LOVE about the BlackJack, is the scroll wheel. Though not without the “back” button beneath it.

You crack me up Stefan, but you do have a point. I wish Nokia will incorporate this into future products.
    Happy Holidays!

    Maybe there’s a patent on jogdials :-P

    Is there? Really?

I confess, never had a blacberry. I had a P800 for a while, which had two of your favorites: a touch screen and a jogdial..:). It was nice peace of equipment but I think all the input methods made it a bit of a mess.

Blackberry is basicly a e-mail device, no? Mayby e-mails are intuitive to go trough with a scroll dial..and you can scroll up and down lists with a joystick as well..but to type an e-mail you would have to take other measures.

Like I said in my previous post, jogdial goes trough lists nicely, but I like my icons in a grid.
And what about some more sophistication? Basic jog dial misses two of joysticks dimensions, it can only scroll up and down and be pushed. Joystick have five directions it can be moved. To have all the joystick moves jogdial would have to be scrolling down and sideways rocking thing.

Why is a jogdial so good in a blackberry and where would you put in a E61? Pls everybody educate me..:)

Didn’t the Nokia 7110 have a jogdial? It was actually quite nice, if I remember correctly…

you’re refering to this phone: http://www.geek.com/hwswrev/pda/nokia7110/index.htm

which does have a roller wheel. good eye! i don’t like the position however, a jogdial should be on the top corner of a device so you can hold it with a full grip
