Tommi doesn’t get the Nokia CES Blog … neither do I

After piloting event blogging with From the World blog last December, I thought we had learned how to do it right.

Well, not quite. Here’s Nokia Nseries at CES Blog (click "Blog" from the link list at the top)

Is it just me or is there something wrong about it?

Here’s how I’d improve it:
– posts in reverse chronological order (the core definition of a blog)
– permalinks (if you are not linkable, people can’t link to you)
– RSS feed (so that people like me can subscribe)
– comments (not a requirement for a blog, but would enhance the content dramatically. See TechCrunch poll)

I can’t even link to the blog, or the webcast of Nokia CEO speaking at CES. Urgh… Could somebody upload it to YouTube?

I know you want to say it but you can’t, so I will. The Nokia CES blog was crap.

It was too flash based, the content was hard to get to, it was more bling then content. The Nokia World 2006 blog was done so well it even amazes me how these things could’ve taken such a turn for the worst. Do you know why the Nokia World 2006 blog rocked? They used a standard blogging engine, Flickr, and YouTube to share information. It was beautiful and I applauded them for it. The same "Web 2.0" technologies that Nokia was talking about in all their presentations was used to make the Nokia World blog.

This CES blog however was pure garbage and a waste of time. Tisk Tisk, I was expecting so much more.
