Microsoft Research is at it again, as they announce the launch of their new ZenZui service today at CTIA. ZenZui is explained as a novel approach to mobile browsing, incorporating a “zooming user interface.”

The new system is based around optimized content “tiles” that can be zoomed in on using your numeric keypad. Apparently, an open API will be released to developers to create these content tiles, ranging from weather and news to mini games and more. Tiles can be transferred from user to user and will generate ad revenue based on number of views. Making the mobile browsing experience more community oriented sounds like a promising idea as more mobile users are getting online.
