I know I’m going to get yelled at for saying this, but I honestly think the Sony produces better quality shots.

Take a look at the images yourself and come back to me with your thoughts.

This one line sums it up pretty well:

You will also notice a lot of digital sharpening on the N95 samples. Too much of it, in fact.

So far nothing is swaying me away from my Canon PowerShot A510.

SE will always be better cos they use a better sensor based around their we established digicam range. Nokia have to rely on a lower quality sensor that can only manage to get better in small increments. They need to ditch them and source cannon sensors.

  • Hakeemmm

    What??!! Is that person crazy??!!!!!

  • Hakeemmm

Sorry!!! wrong comment.ahaha…that post should be on the n95 trashing.Anyway, yeah i agree,SE camera is wayyyyy better than nokia.

  • Bazza

I wont say way better, its just more complete. Nokia still has the best video capture phones around (Europe).

  • alberto

i wish someone can tell me how to take pics on my sony ericsson that good

    i have the cybershot k790 (same as k800 but w.out 3G cam)
and all the pics rnt that good,
and in all honestly i have to take the same pic 2 or 3 times to get one thats acceptable.

sorry but i trust nokia all the way!!!!

  • Hamed djAligator

    you are fool.say why?
because nokia n73 pictures are better than SE k800.and it is almost 3.2 megapixel.
how can n95 photos worth than SE k800?

  • Rey Bolo

Guys!!! I’ve been a nokia fanatic for a looooong time.. but my affair recently ended after having my SE K800i.. its really worth shifting, its simply amazing!!!! My friends dropped-off their Nokia phones too & settle for SE K800i,,, we were never wrong when we did change for something better or we should say..THE BEST!!!

  • Aji

I completely disagree with Djalligator.I’ve both the sony ericsson k800i and N95 and i should say that i am very impressed by the k800i.For a 3.2 mega pixel, i’d say it’s better than the 5 mega pixel cam than that of N95 and all other Nokia cams.I am eagerly waiting for the k850i!!!Also, in terms of usability and Os, still sony ericsson wins as the Os in N95 is slower than my turtle.God, i regret having bought that stupid s60 phone. Also, sony ericsson k800i, despite not being a smartphone is better than most of the smartphones(apart from the fack that it can’t read pdf files but it’ll be possible in a few more months) i know.I recommend this phone to anyone and everyone!!!

  • Georgi

You are all true fools. SE camera phones have been proven better than Nokia camrea phones because they use Cybershot technology and they have a wider range of options and features.

  • Pajo

I have a SE k750i and I was very impressed with it. So impressed that I bought a Cybershot 8MP to replace my Nkon 5MP. I took a few shots under different conditions to compare withe shots that I had taken with the cybershot and boy was I disappointed: the Nikon shots were clearly superior (even the GF thought so)!! I have since bough a Cannon 8MP (returned Cybershot)and all is OK. The moral of this story is don’t expect SE cameras to shine just because SE has access to Cybershot techs. Compared to the big boys (Nikon Cannon) Cybershot cameras are poo- poo. In saying that SE phones are good…

  • George

SE k800i has the best flash around nothing comes close
when it comes to taking pictures at night the SE kills any other phonee

  • dan

ei, regardless with the cameras.. which is real better? NOKIA n73(ME,IE) or SE k800i?? user friendly? easy to use? AND MOST OF ALL QUALITY?? just asking… pls…. answer…. for those who care to answer.. thanks… and have a nice day… peace…

*note(THIS IS FOR BOTH NOKIA AND SONY ERICSSON USERS)

  • Umair

dont wate time in this forum n95 is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar better than se k800i
even n95 beats k850i so how can u compare?

  • Sajjad

    Sony Ericsson’s K850i captures much well than Nokia’s N95

I think sony is producing digital camera’s before than nokia and good electronics history. anyone agree ?

  • Nokia Lover

    Hi,
First I can’t compare the nokia n95 with se k800i because it’s not fair!! nokia n95 camera 5.0 mp & se k800 is 3.2 mp so no way to say that se k800 is better than nokia but I would say that nokia n73 beats se k800i in both video and snap shooting.

    SE’s are baby toys
NOKIA IS KING OF ALL PHONES FOR EVER!!

  • andrew asidera

i thought nokia is the greates phone, but i was wrong when i bought this sek800i phone. the capture is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!! though it’s just 3.2 megapixel but its very very very very very clear. why have to get 5.0 megapixel if it isn’t clear.

  • prish lohones azre thakur

Hi guys i believe both the cellphones are good. My
my nokia 3230 takes really good pictures in
night mode in day or night. I think both
cellphone are good feature wise. So its not
possibe to criticise sony or nokia leave it
just buy which satisfies your needs its simple.

  • menyyy

sony erisscon k800i it is the best

  • Thomas

lol It cant compare The N95 is far way better

  • joezzy

of course you cant compare photos of N95 and k800i, couse from k800i are way better. i have k790i and N95 and when i take the picture the same location in the same condition, are from k790i way better.
I bought k790i couse someone told me that SE with 3.2M captures better picture than nokia with 5M and couse i was nokia fan i couldnt belive it, so i take over hundred of pictures with both of them. and i tell you there is a BIG diference.
videos from nokia are better than from SE but pictures from N95 sucks a lot compare to k790i/k800i

  • sontu4u

SE phones are superb.Nokia cant be good than SE bcoz main thing is that nokia phones are so slow that if someone wants to take a snap at any moment the person have to wait and fails to take the snap of that moment.Do anyone know why a phone bcome slow.OK bcoz softwares are not capable for multitasking and even one application also.Nokia cabinates are of very bad plastic quality.

  • AJU

sony is the best of all first i used ngage qd then i came to sony k800 it is the best phone

  • Bob

lol Evrybody aiready know that Nokia have the best cameras with Carl Zeiss optik The N95 are far way better and like The N82

Nokia today announced that the Nokia N82 multimedia computer has been awarded the ‘Best Mobile Imaging Device in Europe 2008′ by TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) – Europe’s largest photo and imaging press association.

“The Nokia N82 is a compact multimedia computer that integrates GPS, web, video and music functions around a 5 Megapixel camera with a high-speed, f/2.8 autofocus lens,” the TIPA jurors said. “This Carl Zeiss Tessar focuses from 10cm to infinity and produces sharp prints up to and beyond A4 size. Several scene modes are also available to optimize the Nokia N82 for great images, whether shooting portraits or night shots,” TIPA continued. Other Nokia N82 features highlighted by the jurors are the Xenon flash and 20X digital zoom.

“We are very excited to hear that the Nokia N82 has been recognized for its excellent imaging features,” says Juha Kokkonen, Director for Nokia Nseries devices. “The Nokia N82 is an excellent example of how converged devices entirely change the way people contribute to and share on the internet by combining strong camera capabilities with built-in A-GPS and an array of connectivity features.”

Taking advantage of its integrated A-GPS functionality and high resolution camera, the Nokia N82 automatically geotags images with capture location metadata, making it possible to view the capture location on a map either on the Internet or on the device itself. When it comes to sharing, people can upload their pictures or videos directly from their Nokia N82 to services like Share on Ovi, Flickr or YouTube.

The features of the Nokia N82 include:

    - 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash
    - Geotagging
    - Possibility to capture print quality photos and DVD-like quality video clips
    - Wireless LAN connectivity and HSDPA offering high download speeds
    - Integrated A-GPS and access to maps for more than 150 countries

The Nokia N82 supports microSD memory cards of up to 8GB which allow the device to hold up to 3600 high-resolution pictures, 5 hours of high quality video capture, up to 6000 songs or all of the available regions for the Nokia Maps application.

  • Brian

I have both a K800i and a N95 and most admint that the N95 are far way better , not only in camera u get so lot more . Today I have sale my K800i and only use the the N95.

  • Idris

They cant be compared sonyericsson is 100% better than nokia

  • K800i user from Cambodia

I am a k800i user. I am really fond of my K800i. It is a the best phone with reasonable price for me. It is only $188. I can say that it has best camera with good quality comparing to Nokia N73. K880i camera might be able to be compared with N95 if you use all of its function correctly.:) I want to be friends with all of you, phones users. I want to have more infomation or feed back like this from all of you.:)

  • K800i user from Cambodia

SE k800i has best pictures comparing to N73. Nokia N73 has wider screen with cool view but the picture quality is not better than K800i at tall. The color breaks. Esp when you view it on the computer screen. Nokia N73 is more expensive than SE K800i. I prefere K800i. You spend less but you can get more. You spend more but you can get less. Which one do you prefer? SE K800i or Nokia N73? lol :)

  • Jeff

Well if they be sell Sony Ericsson phones any more
    because they are to bad.

    Todays post>
The manufacturer vows no repeat of W910i returns

Retail staff have said they are anxious about selling Sony Ericsson’s current handsets on the back of an exceptionally high level of returns of the manufacturer’s recent handsets.

Freezing and crashing issues beleaguered the C902, the W910i and the K850i in the summer, with some retailers claiming as many as 50% of handsets were being returned in some areas.

The software faults could mean that future Sony Ericsson customers will be more cautious about taking on new hardware.

But Sony Ericsson is confident that, after stringent testing, its new products will operate smoothly.

It will take longer for the amendments to reach retailers in the case of original and older stock. These models still carry the old software faults and need to be re-flashed with new software.

The longevity of the problem has caused some retail staff to suggest that they would not sell Sony Ericsson devices with the same enthusiasm as they did last year.

One Vodafone staffer said: ‘I’ve lost a lot of faith in Sony Ericsson.’

One independent dealer said: ‘Sony Ericsson used to be very reliable, but with the last few phones they aren’t.’

  • sony fan :P

I agree that Sony Ericsson is generally better in cameras … STILL IMAGES to be more precised .. but you cannot compare a 5 years old (mid-end) mobile phone with a 1 year old (higher-end) mobile phone!! besides have you forgotten that the N95 is the best Mobile Phone in this generation!!! yeah I know I dont like that too =S but Its a fact dude … it takes better shots even than the awesome SE C902. anyway I’m still a SE fan and I know that they’ll make a better mobile phone sooner or later, not to mention how amaaaazing XPERIA X1 was … but it’s not a rival coz its bigger in size, It’s more like a portable PC. well I dont care! Sony already made a better product with a better video capturing capabilities XD

  • Nokia fan
