Real Networks buys Sony’s NetServices – Serves up Streaming Music for Vodafone

Vodafone takes on Real Networks as new provider of StreamMan on-demand music services previously provided by SonyAs part of an acquisition deal between Real Networks and Sony, Vodafone’s Live Entertainment Portal users will see their music-streaming (think Internet radio) and downloads being served up by Real Networks. The downloading and streaming-music service, previously provided by Sony’s NetServices, offers a customized option called StreamMan that gives users the option to get on-demand music on their handsets and PC’s alike. The deal marks a move to expand Real Networks’ portfolio of on-demand music services for mobile users.
