Disney launches mobile optimized web portalSo it looks like Disney isn’t wiping its hands of the mobile space altogether. The Walt Disney Internet Group has just launched a free, ad-supported, mobile-optimized (WAP portal) for Disney website-goers on the go.
The site will integrate with Disney activities on Disney.com, Disney.com XD, and Disney’s virtual worlds. Point your mobile browser to Disney.com and you’ll find a mobile version of the “Happiest Website on Earth” for quick on-the-road check-ups on your favorite Disney movies, TV shows, Music, and games (we like the Cars game). There’s even an iPhone-optimized web portal for those Disney fans using Apple iPhones.

Of course, we figure this new portal is mostly for kids. Disney must be aiming at the mobile-phone-toting tween demographic with this new launch. Although, we did find ourselves enjoying that Cars game. It must be the Disney-loving kid in (all of) us.
