Hop-on, the company behind the $10 disposable GSM cellphone, recently announced 6 new low-cost phones. Let’s quickly go through each of them:
- HOP1801 – lowest cost smartphone on the market with full QWERTY keyboard, 2 MP camera, QVGA screen
- HOP1803 – ultra low-cost tri-band GSM phone
- HOP1805 – low-cost phone for emerging markets (we’ve no idea what that means)
- HOP1810 – dual-band camera phone
- HOP1808 – dual-sim, camera, FM radio, MMS, music player, optional Bluetooth
- HOP1809 – 3G, camera, BREW, MMS, MP4
First four phones will be available for distribution in North and South America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, supporting English, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic and more upon request. Other two devices will only be launched in North and South America.
We don’t know the exact prices for every device mentioned above, but we do know the HOP1801 will go for $125 which is ridiculously low price for a smartphone, to say the least.
