Lucky folks of the Laptop Mag got their lucky hands on one of the first prototype units of the Garmin Nuvifone. And while it’s not the white version they scored, we kinda like Garmin’s ideas nonetheless. The fact that some of them are borrowed from the iPhone only goes to Garmin’s advantage. Plus, they managed to add their twist and listen to the iPhone community on what they would like to see added in the Apple’s product. One neat result of that listening practice is the virtual keyboard working in landscape, not only in the browser…
Anyway, the 5-minute long video is readily available on Laptop Mag’s website where you can see the Nuvifone performing such tricks as finger flicking, auto rotation, text input, and more. The bad thing about it is that we still have to wait for the Q4 to try this baby ourselves. Or maybe we score a review unit prior to that. Garmin, do you listen?
