CrunchGear’s Peter Ha got his lucky hands on the latest Texas Instruments Pico projector and from what he can tell they made quite a few improvements, at least in terms of size. As a matter of fact, they managed to cram the LED lit projector into a BlackBerry Curve! Before you go too crazy, you should know it’s not the full Curve we’re talking about here — they needed to put some things out in order to make enough space for their components. Still, it seems like a step forward.
Earlier phones with projectors were up to three times the size of the Curve, giving us hope we may actually see a decently sized mobile phone with a built-in projector sooner rather than later. After all the technology is there, and I guess we’re now waiting for further shrinking and better batteries.
The short video shows the Curve in action. Enjoy!
