BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Announcement Expected at CTIAWith CTIA getting underway tomorrow, there will be no shortage of news and rumors building up to the event. One of the newsier items I’ve read so far is that the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 will be announced at the show. This is big news for BlackBerry addicts, especially if you’re a fan of the smaller, more compact design of the pearl series.

The Pearl 8220 will be the first BlackBerry device to venture into the ‘flip phone’ realm… Providing the user with an ultra compact experience. Those of us that prefer the full QWERTY keyboard will be dissapointed, but others that are fine and dandy with SureType might want to give this device a look-see.

The 8220 features a cool external LCD screen. You can use it to view the time, view new messages, and all sorts of other cool things without actually having to open up the device.

No word on pricing, availability or colors are available at the moment. Details will arrive once the official announcement is made at CTIA this week.
