Zhang ZiyiRecently we’ve posted about Qiao Xing Mobile’s luxury VEVA S60 mobile phone. Apparently, the Chinese company like the idea of increased margins (who doesn’t?) hence they’re inviting Miss Zhang Ziyi, one of the best known Chinese actresses internationally (she played in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon) to be the spokesperson for the luxury VEVA brand in China.

Hiring a high-profile celebrities can be a good thing, especially if you’re building a brand from the scratch like Qiao Xing does. And we like to add that we dig the idea of Chinese handset makers turning to originality rather than simply copying/cloning existing handsets.

Commenting on the occasion, Qiao Xing Mobile chairman, Mr. Wu Zhi Yang, said: “We are very pleased to have Miss Zhang Ziyi as the spokesperson for our VEVA brand handsets in China. We believe that this will greatly lift the image of the brand name and help position VEVA as one of best luxury brands in the Chinese mobile handset market.”
