BlackBerry 8330 on Virgin Mobile Canada

The BlackBerry Pearl was out not long ago on Virgin Mobile Canada, and it looks like they’ve had a good enough run with it to pick up the BlackBerry Curve. It should be available in November for $99 on a three-year plan. Their bare-bones $15 unlimited e-mail plan is on par with any of the other Canadian carriers, but their other BlackBerry bundles are more than competitive. Good on Virgin Mobile for expanding their BlackBerry porfolio – now it’s just a matter of getting the World Edition 8830 to complete the set.

just called a virgin store in Toronto and they denied that the 8330 was coming. haven’t found anything on blogs/chat rooms since Oct 6 or 7.

    is this still on?

Virgin raised the Pearl price $50 (from nil) after the 8330 news broke. Perhaps silence is their strategy; don’t cannibalize Pearl sales until the curve is on the shelf. But raising the Pearl’s price is weird … if the Curve is in fact $99, it puts it at almost the same price point as the Pearl. (What’s $50 difference on a 3-year, $2000 contract).
