Nokia Mac Dev Team has recently announced the very first beta release of Map Loader for Mac. Just like the PC version, Nokia Map loader for Mac allows users to quickly upload maps they need to their Nokia Maps-compatible mobile phone from a comfort of their computer, hence avoiding expensive mobile data charges. This feature is especially useful when travelling, when you certainly don’t need roaming data expense on your bill.

Using Map Loader is quite simple: download and install the application to your Mac, then download maps and places you need, and finally transfer it to Nokia Maps on your mobile device.

As mentioned you’ll need to have a Nokia Maps compatible mobile phone, which in Nokia’s case means a GPS-equipped Symbian S60-powered smartphone like N95, N95 8GB, N82 and others.  In addition, you will also need to install Nokia Multimedia Transfer and you’re ready to go…
