Remember when the iPhone was the hottest thing rolling through the blogosphere? Remember how “iPhone” was the most searched for term on the web after Apple launched its original iPhone? Well, the new hotness on the block is apparently BlackBerry’s first-ever touchscreen handset – the BlackBerry 9500 Storm.

Web search statistics from Hitwise show that searches for “BlackBerry Storm” has surpassed search queries for “iPhone,” “Nokia N96,” “Sony Ericsson C905,” and “Samsung Omnia.” Searches for “BlackBerry Storm” have skyrocketed in just a month’s time, bringing the Storm from the bottom of the search-rankings to the top in no time flat.

So, with the BlackBerry Storm’s release imminent, we can be sure that the web-searching masses will be flocking to RIM’s touchscreen baby for months to come.
