Punch-O-Meter Game for the iPhone Hits the App Store

Punch-O-Meter from DoApp is the latest in a wide range of ‘party’ games to hit the iPhone. I call it a party game because it’s one of those games you’d pull out at your friends place and say ‘Hey, you gotta try this…’ Then a friend passes it to another, and another… You get the idea.

In Punch-O-Meter, the premise is to throw an ‘air punch’ with your iPhone (or iPod Touch) in your hand. The app calculates a score based on your accuracy, speed and strength. Challenge your friends and colleagues to see who can punch out the highest score. You can challenge others via email, SMS or in an old school in-person battle.

The app looks like good times, however I would be hesitant to throw a punch with my beloved iPhone in my hand. What happens if the phone slips and goes flying across the room? I can see a few iPhones getting destroyed as a result of this app. Perhaps the folks over at DoApp need to sell the app with a wrist-strap, much like the Nintendo Wii controller? 🙂

Punch-O-Meter is available for only $0.99 in the App Store. Click here to get it (iTunes link alert).
