Motorola Hint QA30 lands on Alltel

Take a look at the image above and tell me that the Motorola’s latest device doesn’t remind you on Pantech-made Verizon Blitz. It’s the same / very similar kind of device, sporting a full QWERTY keyboard under the sliding mechanism.

Just like the Verizon’s QWERTY slider, the Motorola Hint QA30 — which is available on Alltel starting from tomorrow, November 28th — is a feature phone. There’s no smartphone mobile OS under the hood and the phone is designed for young savvy texters. Other specs (aside from the full keyboard) include a 2 megapixel camera, 2.5-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels) screen, standard 3.5mm headset jack, EV-DO connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS, microSD memory card slot, and surprisingly (for a feature phone) 256MB of ROM, and 128MB of RAM. Until now “that much” RAM and ROM was reserved for smartphones. It seems Motorola wanted to ensure their baby works like a charm. In addition, the Hint also has dedicated keys for accessing camera, MP3 player and web browser.

As for the pre-installed software, users will find a music player, web browser, threaded messaging app, Telenav-powered Alltel Navigation, XM Radio Mobile and Aricent Celltop. Alltel will sell the Moto Hint for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a two-year contract.
