It seems RadioShack is moving towards offering Acer’s Aspire One netbook on AT&T’s contract for just $99. The trick is in the details, as with every purchase you’ll have to sign-up for AT&T’s data contract worth $60 or more. Otherwise, you’re free to grab the netbook sans any agreements signed for $499.
The way I see it, if you need your connectivity all the time, it’s about the price you’ll have to pay anyway. To be fair, you may need a less-worth contract and your existing laptop could do the job just fine. But if you want to join the “netbook wave,” Acer’s product is one of the best options on the market. Or at least, that’s my take.
One thing is unclear, though. We’re not sure when will RadioShack actually start pushing this offer. It’s December and if they want to grab a piece of the holiday rush, the time is now!
