Time to start highlighting some boxing day promos. This time around we have one from Future Shop up here in Canada… and it sort of spotlights the dropping prices of Blu-Ray players these days.

Among a whole bunch of other deals touted in a recent Boxing Day flyer from Future Shop, perhaps the most notable for me was this one. Buy a Samsung M540 Slyde (Telus) on a 3-year term… and Future Shop will throw in a Blu-Ray player for free. To meet their requirements you’ve got to purchase in-store, and the offer will work for new activations only. Oh, and did I mention that the M540 Slyde will cost you nothing too? That’s right, the device is free, all Telus and Future Shop want is your signature on a 3-year deal and the phone and Blu-Ray player are yours. Not bad.

The Slyde is a full QWERTY slider with 2MP camera, 2.1 inch screen and GPS. Not a bad little device at all, and it comes in pink and black.

Out of some sort of weird/odd coincidence, I actually watched a large portion of ‘Men in Black’ in Blu-Ray last night… And darn it… the movie looked and sounded great. I’ve gotta get me one of them Blu-Ray players!

Yes, I like the deal, but when was this deal, and is it still going on?
