Skype ‘Lite’ Coming to Android

If you’re a Skype user, no doubt there’s a little part of you that smiles when the app is released on a new platform and/or device. This time around at CES, it has been announced that Skype Lite is coming to the Android OS. The app will allow T-Mobile G1 users to make cheap calls without needing a mobile interenet connection… Plus, of course, you can use it to chat with friends, family and colleagues via Skype chat.

The new app is being made available to many other java-enabled handsets this morning (Nokia, Moto, LG, etc…). I haven’t noticed its availability in the Android Market yet, and no details are available as to when it will be available for download, but it should be soon.

I live and breathe Skype. Gotta love it when you can take it with you on-the-go! Stay tuned for more on this as it develops.
