‘Leap-Berry’ For Kids Hitting the UK This August

Do your little ones always grab your phone and start playing with it? I know whenever I’m around ‘youngins’, they inevitably grab whatever device I happen to be packing, and start playing with it. They usually end up changing ringtones around, playing a game or something… One thing is for sure, kids love gadgets.

With that in mind, I just read that Leapfrog is launching a new BlackBerry-esque themed device for kids. Scoff at it if you like, but with kids having to embrace technology to get on in today’s world, I actually think this is a pretty good idea. The device comes with a full QWERTY keyboard and LCD screen. It can be used to send pretend text messages… and there’s a calendar, a few games, and a phonics function. Cool.

No details on if this will be hitting North American markets, but from my source it looks to be hitting the UK in August of this year for £19.99.

Neither my wife nor I can keep our son away from our BlackBerry, though I doubt him having this would change that. We actually gave him my wife’s old one (without battery of course) ut still he prefers the one that mommy or daddy has in her/his hand!
