Apple II classic, The Oregon Trail, is set to hit the AppStore. So far, we’ve seen the popular game being released for the JavaME-enabled mobile phones and now Gameloft is planning to bring the legendary title to the iPhone, as well.
The story line remains the same and sees you following the trials and tribulations of the pioneer’s life on the wagon as they make the journey from Independence, Missouri, to Willamette Valley in Oregon in 1848. I’ll stop here – you can get more information about the game from a dedicated Wikipedia entry.
Now the bad news. Apparently this will be an U.S. title only. Europeans will not get to play it, at least for now. Hopefully that will change and as soon as The Oregon Trail hits the American AppStore, Europeans will get to try it out within weeks…
