Previously referred to vaguely as the Application Storefront, RIM’s direct-to-device channel for BlackBerry applications has been officially christend as App World. As announced at the Developer Conference in October, the update was due to go live in March, and here we are with a proper name, likely to lead up to a public launch in the next couple of weeks. A full site for developers, blackberry.com/appworld, should be going live sometime tonight, along with notification sign-ups for those who just can’t wait to get rolling in the apps.
