Yesterday marked the first official day of competition at the 2009 LG Canadian Texting Championships. The event is put on by LG to help promote their devices and encourage texting (via an LG device of course!). The event is taking place at Toronto’s Eaton Centre over the next few days. Trust me, if you’re in the mall you’ll find it. The winner will receive a cool $25,000… all for having the fastest thumbs. Following the Toronto event, the championships will run across Canada only to return to Toronto for the finals on June 29th. A video of the official welcome/contest kick-off is above.
