Rumor: New HTC Device Coming to T-Mobile as the G3?

g3

Throw this one in the rumor bin for now, but a tipster over at TMoNews has let my bud David in on some interesting info. Seems as though the tipster was chosen to participate in a market survey for T-Mobile. The survey was given to help T-Mo choose the name of an upcoming HTC device… The names available for selection were:

  • T-Mobile G3
  • T-Mobile Genius 3G with Google
  • T-Mobile myTouch 3G with Google
  • Prism 3G with Google

Interesting. Could the HTC device previously codenamed the Magic, Sapphire and Dream actually be coming to the US under one of the above names as a ‘G3’ device? Or are the names above for a completely different non-Magic/Sapphire/Dream Android-powered device from HTC?

I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about this one soon… But keep this under rumors for now, for sure… More ‘slides’ are below for your perusal.

Thanks David!
