It’s not enough for Palm to be the first manufacturer to integrate wireless charging (magnetic induction) technology into a mobile phone. Palm’s Touchstone charger for the Palm Pre is apparently just the first wireless thinagmajig in a line of Touchstone products. The reference to the Touchstone product line slipped loose during a Palm Pre product demo, which we’ve become all too familiar with over the past few months, and signals the eventual launch of additional Touchstone hardware.
If the Touchstone wireless charger is just the beginning, we’re excited to see what Palm has in store for all us wireless thingamajig fans. As PreThinking posits, we may soon see the Palm Pre joined by a Touchstone dock that connects your Pre to your computer. Wireless inductive data transfers might also be on the horizon.
Of course, this is all speculation until Palm gets official with the Palm Pre and Touchstone. But, with the mid-May launch window fast approaching, we won’t have to wait too long…
