So here I am, relaxing and trying to watch some of the ‘DaVinci Code‘ in preparation for the big premiere of ‘Angels & Demons‘ later in the week… When I come across some awesome BlackBerry goodness to share with you all. It seems as though my bud Kevin has scored some first pics of the BlackBerry ‘Onyx’ in the wild, and more details are coming out from the CB Forums and from BGR. It’s all good stuff.

Here’s what is known so far. The ‘Onyx’, aka ‘Driftwood’ will be hitting T-Mobile sometime around September. The device is 3G-enabled and looks to be much sleeker/sexier than the 8900. Here are some key features as we know them at the moment:

  • AWS 1700MHz + 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA
  • 3.2 MP autofocus camera
  • GPS
  • WiFi
  • Full QWERTY keyboard
  • Optical trackpad
  • 480×360 scren
  • Carbon fiber back battery cover

Also worthy of note, BGR has just posted some intel that the device may launch as part of the 96xx series. Very exciting stuff. Of course there are no pricing or release date details, but expect more on this soon. Once pics start appearing in the wild it’s only a matter of time. Stay tuned for more on this… It’s coming, I guarantee it!
