palm-pre-side-open-verticalWe still have no solid launch information for the Palm Pre, bolstered speculation of an official announcement on May 19 notwithstanding. But, it seems Sprint is already shipping Palm Pre demo units to some Sprint retail stores. A tipster that we consider to be reliable has let us know that Palm Pre demonstration devices are starting to trickle into Sprint stores. The Palm Pre demos are apparently under strict lockdown and come packaged in generic Palm Pre retail boxes.

The arrival of demonstration devices to Sprint stores doesn’t necessarily indicate a specific launch date for the Palm Pre, but it does tell us that Big Yellow is ramping up for what could be the biggest handset launch in the carrier’s history. Sprint is likely going to start showing off the Palm Pre in stores following the Palm Pre advertisement that’s speculated to hit the Wall Street Journal on May 19.

More Palm Pre information to follow. Stay tuned!

[Update]
The Palm Pre demo units are packaged in the same retail boxes we’ve seen before.

I’m interested in a free unit of the free. I understand that there are programs that are programs that for feedback
will let you have a beta version. I will like to volunteer for one. I work for army in the Wounded warrioir
unit as the Consumer Affairs officer and make recommendations on products to my clients. In addition my
palm TX is not working right. When I press the house button and select office documents, the palm resets every time
and that is not helpful. By the way if the pre runs out of battery , does it loose the info? Thank you
